DFC reactor
Defiant Renewables provides highly efficient reactor system for biogas production. The reactor system also includes a pump, column and receiver connected together with necessary piping. Suitable control systems (for heating, cooling, dispersion level, pressure, liquid flowrate control etc.) are included as required. In the system the column will act as a well mixed section promoting harmonious growth of bacterium consortia under anaerobic conditions, and the receiver will act as upward flow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB), reactor in which gas and slurry separation will occur and gas will be collected from the top. As the system is a close loop system minimum washout of active microbial culture will occur.

- The reactor can be adopted to use various organic wastes.
- Tolerance to particulates – system allows for high solid content. The designed reactor will ensure high SRT increasing solid utilization and increased gas production.
- The reactor can also be operated as a pack bed and packing material can be used as a support for growing bacteria
- Isothermal operation can be achieved avoiding temperature gradients in turn affecting bacterial activity.
- Lower Power consumption.
- Smaller operating volume – can be used as a variable volume reactor.
- No foaming possible as no free gas-liquid interface at the inlet.
- No internal Moving parts – like stirrer etc. and therefore reduced Capital as well as operating costs. This would prevent damage to growing bacteria
